I started as soon as I got home by creating my first Etsy treasury, a collection of 16 works by other Etsy artists. Mine is called Christmas ACEOs — Last Minute Gifts under $10. We are so fortunate to live on the edge of wetlands. This meadow is between us and the river. It  abounds with grasses and shrubs and wildlife of all kinds. The colors here are much quieter than my usual work. Don’t worry, I’ll make up for that tomorrow. <grin>

I didn’t make this artwork into an art card. Since it doesn’t have an outstanding feature, I don’t think it would work in miniature form. But larger prints are available on my print site, as always. Enjoy! xox

Driving around a few mornings ago, I encountered this oak tree with the leaves backlit by the sun. We don’t get big fall color display here in the Pacific Northwest. Our territory is dominated by evergreens, so we don’t have big clusters of deciduous trees. (Notice all the green foliage in the background here.) Instead, we get to appreciate individual trees like this one. I’m hoping to get a sunny morning again soon so I can go appreciate a few more individuals before all the leaves are gone. We have some gorgeous ones in our neighborhood.

Driving in my neighborhood the other day, I spotted this beautiful pink rose peeking through the branches of a western red cedar. I love the color combination … I might let it set the tone for my Christmas decor this year.

Soft, gentle, bendable willows are the perfect companion to the feminine moon. In art, willows connote such feminine traits as dreaming, intuition, and deep emotions.  I wanted to combine them with an image of the full moon rising in the deepening blue sky.

I love my neighborhood! It’s full of alleys, and you find the most amazing things there. I found this old truck parked in one a few days ago. I had to spiff it up, of course. I hope you like it! xox

Autumn’s here, and the Oregon mornings are foggy again. I think I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: Douglas-firs and fog seem to be made for each other. I adapted this artwork from a photo I took along the Willamette River near my home. Enjoy! xox

These houses on the hillside above downtown Juneau, AK, really caught my eye. Juneau has long, dark, wet, cold winters, and all this color must help to perk things up a bit for the folks who live there. If you lived in a colorful neighborhood like this, what color would you paint your house? Pink is my favorite color, but I really love that orange house in the background.

Some interesting features: steeply sloped roofs to shed large amounts of snow (100+ inches a year), and a satellite dish pointed almost at the horizon. The satellites orbit around the equator, a long way south from Juneau.

Deck 10 of our ship featured a humongous buffet that opened out on this veranda that stretched across the back of the ship. (The stern?) It was one of my favorite places to be. We were cruising up Tracy Arm Fjord in this picture. It was early morning, around 7:30, and still chilly, but it got nicely warm later on.
